temporos: "Please answer as honestly as possible. Assumptions may be necessary for some questions, however, attempt to minimize the assumptions made:
White or black?
Left or right?
Logic or emotion?
Spontaneity or careful planning?
Unproductive enjoyment or progressive research?
Sincerity or joviality?"
I object to your dichotomy. It is problematic to assume that certain things, like logic and emotion must oppose each other. Unproductive enjoyment versus progressive research is the worst offender. One who does not enjoy being productive needs to seriously change himself.

silentStatic: "Do you feel that Elf research is at a dead-end, and that their resources should be reallocated for other biotech research?"
Not yet, by far.

 |
silentStatic: "How do you feel about the way that other elves are being used in society? Do you feel that their full potential is being used, or is other configurations in which their skills might be more useful?"
Well, there are different ways of comparing usefulness. One measure is replaceability. For example, an elf at a power plant can easily be replaced with another elf, but it would be much more difficult to replace me with another doctor, elf or not, that can match my performance. In any case, I wouldn't say elves are being utilized to their full potential, overall. But considering that modern elfology is a relatively new branch of science, I would expect the situation to improve in the future -- if the society can let go of prejudice.

silentStatic: "How do you feel about working in the medical profession, given that, admittedly another branch, is related to create elves in laboratories?"
I don't see any issues that are inherent to, or unique about, my situation. They produce normal human embryos in laboratories too. Birth is only a small part of one's life -- a part of your life that you cannot control. I prefer to focus on what I can control. Fosters productivity.

silentStatic: "Have you ever felt tempted to focus less on healing individual patients and becoming more research oriented? Perhaps having a stab at achieving immortality, or at least some change that will outlive your patients."
I will leave that particular topic to elfologists, although I wouldn't mind taking up on research once again.

NortheasternWind: "Hello, Doctor! Apologies if I seem gratuitously excited. I have a couple questions.
Do your ears ever get in the way? I can't imagine it's comfortable to sleep on your side with ears like that."
No, not particularly.
|
|
 |
NortheasternWind: "Have you ever just sat back and thought, "Wow, my life sucks?""
I do not 'sit back' and lament. When there is something that I want changed, I take actions towards making that change.

NortheasternWind: "What's your opinion of kids in general? Do you like them, or is it annoying to have to explain everything in small words and short sentences?"
Doctors are under no obligations to alter their speech patterns for children. I expect their guardians to provide translations if necessary. This isn't a problem I encounter on a regular basis, fortunately -- I discovered early on that I needed to stay as far away from pediatrics as possible.

|
 |
Dragon master: "This is linked to NortheasternWind's question about children, have you ever been confused with a child/had someone get your age wrong etc. because you look like a child?"
Yes, on more than one occasion. I usually let them remain confused until they ask me to clarify.

Cepharia: "Dr Huang , you will have to forgive me if the first part of my question appears to be more of an observation than a direct question. For the most part Dr. Haung you present yourself as a fairly affable person. A pleasant smile is a normal greeting for your patients.
You are not the type to show overt displeasure. And yet you have been put through a rather stressful series of events that would warrant frustration. Any living being might be provoked to anger by such global discrimination and isolation.
Mr. Haung, what keeps you in check? Is it simply that as an Elf your anger maybe mislabeled as a sign of dementia and thus easily be used against you? Or Mr. Haung, are you the type of person who is uncomfortable with his own anger?"
Oh, I'm sure anyone who has worked with me would disagree with your observation. I am not one to mince words when it comes to expressing disapproval, and I do disapprove of most of the things that happen around me. My standards are pretty high.

HitsugayaFan: "Are you more of a gloomy or sunny weather person, or does it not matter."
Weather is of little importance to me in most cases. As long as the road conditions are manageable, I don't mind.

Vergessen Held: "If your soul had a flavor, what would it be?"
Antiseptic-flavored, perhaps.
